It’s been nearly two weeks since finishing the grape harvest, which was an incredibly cool experience. As I’ve mentioned before, it was a lot of work and caused some back pain, but totally worthwhile to do. I would love to return next year if possible!
One of the best parts of this work was being outside all of the time and getting to see some beautiful sunrises as we started our work day and enjoying the beauty of the vineyards throughout the day. Often our days ended with a quick dip in the pool of our host’s sister where we would snack on fresh figs direct from the tree. It doesn’t get much better than that after a long day of working in the heat!

The home we stayed in during the vendanges was a beautiful old home in Thézan-des-Corbières. I kept finding all sorts of treasures as I wandered through the house.

The end of our days was often spent chilling out on the back terrace or at the pool. A cold beer (and fresh figs) was the perfect snack after a long day outside cutting grapes.

We celebrated our last day of the vendanges with a crepe dinner!
This was really such an incredible few weeks – really hope I can return next year!
